First Blood

Hamlet  is starting to get to the point where everyone is dying off. The third act got interesting. In this act new plot twists arose and old ones were continued. The common theme of espionage was continued with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Also with Claudius and Polonius, although it caused Polonius some trouble in the end with his death. This play has gotten to the point where the issues in the family are starting to get out of hand. Hamlet decided to put on a play where he reenacts the death of his father to get a reaction out of Claudius, which it did. Then when Claudius went to repent Hamlet was going to kill him, but feared he would go to heaven and not be punished for his deeds. This is really ironic because right after Hamlet was going to kill Claudius, Claudius said that he did not mean any of what he was repenting and would go back to his normal ways. Then in the end Hamlet kills Polonius when he is hiding behind a curtain. This was interesting I thought because it was one of the first times you actually knew that Hamlet knew someone is spying on him. At this time also Hamlet talks to his mom, and then the ghost shows up to deal with her, and then she just makes it all worse. It is a whole mess of a family already, and there are still two more acts to go. So they may go further into insanity.
